Mueller Lab

Laboratory of Sex Chromosome Genetics

Our goal is to understand the molecular genetics of infertility via the lens of evolution. To study infertility we use a combination of molecular genetics/genomics, development biology, and molecular evolution. In particular, we focus on the X chromosome: a chromosome that is enriched for complex genomic structures harboring recently evolved genes that are expressed during sperm and egg development. Our laboratory is located in the Department of Human Genetics at the University of Michigan.
